Beginning under shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu, the Tokugawa shogunate controlled Japan for 250+ years.

During this period, Japan has been peaceful, as the island has been unified by the Tokugawa shogunate, who has ensured the cooperation of the island's daimyos.

Due to this peace, Japan has been able to grow in quite a few ways. The economy has grown, infrastructure has been developed, as well as art and culture. Without the constant wars of the Warring States period, society has thrived.
